Overview
What is 司法試験本試験マスター?
司法試験本試験マスター (Bar Exam Master) is an iOS study app dedicated to preparing for Japan's bar examination (本試験). It covers the three short-answer subjects (constitutional, civil, and criminal law) and essay questions across public law, civil law, criminal law, and elective subjects, with practice questions and exam-format mock tests. All questions and explanations are original.
How to Use
Basic Operation
- Launch the app and choose a subject or the mock exam from the home screen.
- For short-answer questions, the correct answer and an explanation for each option are shown immediately.
- For essay questions, type your own answer; with Pro AI grading you receive scoring and feedback.
- Mock exams can be taken in Full, Half, or Short length in the real exam format with a converted score.
- From the Upgrade screen you can purchase the full question unlock (one-time) and essay AI grading (Pro).
Purchases
Upgrade Options
You can try a selection of questions and features for free. There are two independent upgrades:
- Full Question Unlock (one-time) — $49.99. A single payment unlocks all short-answer questions across every subject, plus the exam-format mock test, fully offline. It does not auto-renew.
- Pro Essay AI Grading (auto-renewable subscription, $19.99/month or $119.99/year) — AI scores and gives feedback on your essay answers, within a monthly grading allowance.
Note: Pro essay AI grading is an add-on for customers who have purchased the one-time Full Question Unlock. It cannot be used on its own.
Subscription payments are charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the period at the same price. Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal turned off in your App Store account settings after purchase. The one-time Full Question Unlock does not auto-renew.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
My purchase is not showing / I want to use it on another device
- Make sure you are connected to the internet.
- Tap Restore Purchases on the Upgrade screen to restore purchases made with the same Apple Account.
- Both the one-time unlock and subscriptions work on your other devices at no extra cost as long as they use the same Apple ID.
I cannot buy the essay AI grading plan
- Essay AI grading (Pro) requires purchasing the one-time Full Question Unlock first.
- After buying the Full Question Unlock, the monthly and yearly plan buttons appear on the Upgrade screen.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
- Select 司法試験本試験マスター and tap Cancel Subscription.
- You keep Pro features until the end of the current billing period.
Privacy
Privacy
司法試験本試験マスター requires no account. It handles only an anonymous Device ID and your purchase history, as needed for the app to function, and never uses them for tracking or advertising. When you use essay AI grading, your submitted answer is sent to the server for scoring. See our Privacy Policy for details.
