Overview
What is PowdersNow USA?
PowdersNow USA is an iOS app that helps you discover and compare ski resorts across the United States. It provides real-time weather forecasts, estimated gas costs, flight and hotel booking links, and AI-powered trip planning. Beyond ski season, it also supports trekking and fall foliage modes.
Getting Started
How to Use PowdersNow
- Launch the app and choose a category: Skiing, Trekking, or Foliage
- On the search screen, set your date, distance range, and transport (drive/fly)
- Tap "Find My Mountain" to see matching resorts
- Review weather, distance, and gas cost estimates on each resort card
- Use flight and hotel links to book directly on third-party sites

Location Permission
PowdersNow uses your location to find nearby ski resorts and calculate distances. When prompted on first launch, tap "Allow While Using App".
If location is denied, all resorts are still shown, but distance calculations and gas estimates will be unavailable.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Weather shows 'unavailable'
- Check your internet connection
- Loading many resorts at once may slow weather API responses. Scroll down and wait a moment
Gas estimate not showing
- Resorts over 350 miles switch to flight recommendations instead
- If location permission is denied, distance calculations are unavailable
AI Search or Concierge is locked
- Rider or Summit plan is required
- You may have reached your monthly AI quota (resets next month)

Data & Privacy
PowdersNow requires no account signup and never stores your location on our servers. AI input text is not retained after processing. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
