TranceWeave
Weave tone into rhythm.
A live XY timbre sequencer for trance and psytrance. Five layers, sixteen steps, and every step can hold its own sound — then the XY pad morphs the timbre across the whole pattern while it plays. Key / Scale lock keeps every note in tune, Ratchet and Accent add the rolls and hits, HOLD FILL throws in a fill without rewriting the pattern, and a tempo-synced Duck leaves room for the kick. Twenty synthesized sound sources, fifteen controls per sound, zero samples.

“Weave tone into rhythm.”
TranceWeave is a step sequencer where every step can hold its own sound. Five layers, sixteen steps, and twenty synthesized sources — kicks, basses, hats, plucks, bells, zaps and threads of noise — with fifteen controls on each one. While it plays, the XY pad morphs the timbre across the whole pattern. LIVE XY is a performance offset on top of your edit, so you can push a pattern as far as you like on stage and it is still the same pattern when you let go. Key / Scale lock (Chromatic, Major, Natural Minor, Dorian, Phrygian) keeps every degree in tune. Ratchet rolls a step up to four times, Accent hits harder, Swing loosens the grid, HOLD FILL throws in a fill without rewriting anything, and a tempo-synced Duck leaves the kick its space. Map a controller and play it by hand: XY on pitch bend or CC, notes 36–51 firing the steps, MIDI learn for the rest. As an AU / VST3 instrument it follows the DAW transport and tempo; the standalone app records 24-bit WAV with REC. Fully synthesized, no samples.

The main view. Every step on every layer can hold its own sound, the XY pad morphs the timbre live, and the fifteen sound controls for the selected step sit along the right.

Each layer carries its own Rhythm, Octave, Mute / Solo, Random Sound / Random Rhythm, Quantize and Audition. Here layer 3 runs in triplets against the others.

64 factory presets: twenty synthesized sources in the Factory bank plus the Motion and Prism banks, sorted by category, alongside your own User presets.

Each bank reinterprets the library — Motion adds evolving pulses, ribbons and undercurrents; Prism adds bright, glassy variants — so the same categories fill up with new colours.

Pick a controller map — XY on pitch bend or CC, notes 36–51 on the steps — or press learn and assign anything by hand.

A walkthrough inside the app takes you from an empty grid to a playing pattern, one screen at a time.

Every control explained in one place, ready whenever you need a reminder mid-session.

USE CASE
Lock a key, drop Psy Bass on the offbeats of one layer and Rolling Bass on another, then ride the XY pad through the breakdown — the pattern never changes, only its timbre. Stack Closed Hat, Noise Tick and Air Shaker on three layers with different Rhythms and let the polyrhythm weave itself. Reroll a layer with Random Sound until it clicks, Lock the steps you keep. On stage, hold HOLD FILL going into the drop, let go on the one, and Duck keeps the kick clear the whole way.
FOR
Trance and psytrance producers who want a pattern that sounds different every bar without re-programming it, live performers who need a fill and a timbre ride under one hand, and anyone who has run out of things to do with a piano roll.
